Within 30 minutes around our family hotel in the Allgäu: in Gunzeried, the community right down in the valley you can try another piece of Allgäu tradition - in the dairy there is a great variety of cheese. Not far from our family hotel in the Allgäu you find the Oberstdorf ski jump. Here the whole family feels like Sven Hannawald. Almost real dwarfs will guide you and your kids through the old mine of "Erlebniswelt Erzgruben" in Burgberg, where you can observe the ancient art of forging in a visitor's smithy. The "Bergbauernmuseum" Diepolz, in the direct vicinity of our family hotel in the Allgäu houses the history of mountain farming and shows the work and everyday life in the Allgäu agriculture and the dairy and alpine farming. For children there is also an adventure playground, a herb garden and an adventure trail. Another special highlight is the Alpsee mountain world with the Alpsee Coaster – Germany's longest toboggan run, which is open all year round. If you feel like shopping, you can drive to Immenstadt. This small metropolis not far away from your family hotel in the Allgäu is a real insider tip with many nice owner-runned boutiques.

Interesting places to visit within one hour from our family hotel in the Allgäu
It takes less than an hour by car from our family hotel in the Allgäu to reach the world-famous royal castle Neuschwanstein. With its idyllic location it belongs to the most visited castles in the world. In Legoland in Günzburg many attractions are waiting for you and your family. The miniature landscape is built out of over 25 million Lego bricks. Another worthwhile excursion is a trip to the island town Lindau on the Bodensee (Lake Constance) with its beautiful harbour promenades and mediterranean flair. Things are going really fast in the Skyline-Park in Bad Wörishofen. Some of the interesting places to visit in the historic city of Kempten are the town hall, the castle mound ("Burghalde") and the Roman settlement.
