Both children and parents have fun at the family-friendly Hotel Allgäuer Berghof. In our traditionally designed, yet modern restaurants we reserve a fixed family table for breakfast and dinner for each family, so that you can feast in a relaxed manner throughout your stay. The interior design of the six spacious and cosy parlours is specially designed to keep the noise level down. Warm colours, genuine wood panelling and comfortable corner benches make our restaurants particularly cosy for everyone. In addition, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the Allgäuer Hauptkamm or the Nagelfluh chain from every parlour.
Of course, we have also thought of our little guests - high chairs, children's cutlery as well as funny dishes are at your free disposal in our family-friendly hotel in the Allgäu. Coloured pencils and colouring sheets provide additionally for entertaining dishes. Boredom has no chance here! A visit to the family-friendly children's restaurant at Froschis steam engine table is especially exciting. The highlight here is the railway, which brings food directly to the seat of all hungry explorers. This makes eating even more fun!
The restaurant "Nagelfluh" with panoramic view of the Nagelfluh (mountain) chain
The restaurant "Nagelfluh" in our family-friendly hotel in the Allgäu captivates with its unique view through the floor-to-ceiling 180° panoramic windows directly onto the Nagelfluh (mountain) chain opposite. This extends from the Mittagberg (1,451m) in Immenstadt to the Hochhäderich (1,565m) in Hittisau (AT) and its highest mountain - the Hochgrat - stands out clearly with its 1,834 metres. One reason why the Nagelfluh chain is so well known is the geological structure of its mountains. The so-called Nagelfluh rock is initially reminiscent of concrete: Rounded boulders are enclosed in a baked mass. This is why Nagelfluh rock is also known as "Herrgottsbeton" in the Allgäu region. The rock was formed from mud, rubble and scree, which was carried along by primeval rivers during the formation of the Alps and deposited in a large pre-alpine alluvial plain. Nagelfluh rock can be discovered both in the "Nagelfluh" restaurant and in many places around the Allgäuer Berghof.
Allgäuer cosiness in our rustic "Hoiba-Stube"
"Hoiba" is the name in the Allgäu dialect for working with hay. The parlour is furnished in the style of an Allgäu farmer's parlour and decorated with equipment for hay harvesting and hay work. Traditionally, people used to meet in the Hoiba-Stube in the evening after the completion of their field work to leave the day's exertions behind and to start the well-deserved end of the day. You too can enjoy a few cosy hours with the family there! By the way, the windows of the "Hoiba-Stüble" are original windows of the former Alpe Eck, the foundation walls of the Allgäuer Berghof.
Our nostalgic rooms "Platz 1" and "Galerie"
The "Platz 1" is dedicated to the Olympic successes of Ossi Reichert, the former hotel manager and aunt of Hannes Neusch. The Berghof legend won the Olympic gold medal in giant slalom in Cortina d'Ampezzo in 1956 as the first German Olympic champion in skiing after the Second World War. The medal, as well as other trophies from her career, can be admired in the "Platz 1".
The "Gallery" is dedicated to the works of the painter Rudolf Staudenmaier (1884-1954, called Staudi), who spent many hours in the Berghof as a friend of the house. He remunerated his stays with his paintings from time to time, which is why a considerable collection of 18 oil paintings has been built up over the years.
The panoramic restaurant
The Panorama Restaurant dates back to the time of the historic Berghof. At that time, the room was furnished with wing chairs and marble floors and served as a venue for fashion shows and cigar evenings. It is hard to believe when you look through the floor-to-ceiling windows today and see the Illertal valley and the Allgäuer main ridge. The former marble is hidden under a new wooden floor, the interior has given way to a more modern version - leaving behind unforgettable memories of many wonderful moments.
The cosy restaurant in our family-friendly hotel in the Allgäu has also served as a banqueting hall at all the Neusch family's weddings. Will the young hosts Jakob, Moritz and Felix continue this tradition one day?
