The Allgäuer Berghof is located in the middle of the Allgäu Alps and is your perfect starting point for great family trips. From our children's hotel in Upper Bavaria, you can for example reach the Allgäuer Bergbauernmuseum in Diepolz within 30 minutes by car.
An excursion to the Allgäuer Bergbauernmuseum is an experience for explorers of all ages. The open-air museum at over 1,000 meters in front of a beautiful mountain backdrop brings visitors closer to the life of the Allgäu mountain farmers 200 years ago. In the historic buildings, the hardships and lives full of privation of the Allgäu mountain farmers are portrayed by different offers for young and old.

Of course, various topics relating to the cow and the dairy industry in the Allgäu are taken up. How does the grass in the cow's stomach actually become milk? These and other exciting questions can be investigated by you and your children at the Bergbauernmuseum. There are also regular courses on various topics, such as baking bread in a woodstove or selfmade natural cosmetics.
Old animal breeds such as the "Allgäuer Braunvieh", the Sulmtaler chickens and the Allgäu mountain sheep are at home in the museum. Especially for children, there is no need to be bored: just like a real mountain farmer feels at work, the little ones can recreate the treadmill tractors' track while loading hay and maneuvering the toy vehicles. A special highlight for the kids is hopping in the hay.
The historic museum mountain pasture "Höfle" on the museum grounds invites you to enjoy a savoury snack and complements your excursion from the children's hotel to the Allgäuer Bergbauernmuseum in Upper Bavaria perfectly.
