Our Allgäu Winter Wonderland

Skating, cross-country skiing, and much more…

The magnificent location of the Allgäuer Berghof in the Bavarian Alps, right the middle of our skiing area, offers endless sport possibilities in our winter wonderland.  Kilometres of cross-country trails, skating or classical, free sled and toboggan rentals from the hotel, snowshoe hiking, winter hiking, there is no end to the activities:

Winter hiking

A real dream right from the Berghof doors.  Well prepared alpine trails await all guests.  All trails are very walkable, even with a child’s sled.  Along the way there are always great opportunities to warm up and have a bite to eat.

Cross-country skiing (classical and skating)

In Gunzesried (5 minutes by car) 17.5 km of well marked and prepared trails, in one of the most beautiful alpine valleys in Germany await.

A further 15 minutes by car are the dream cross-country ski areas in Oberstdorf, Balderschwang and Bergstättgebiet.

Sledging and Tobogganing

Sledges and toboggans are freely available to all, then it's off to the slopes!  After a thrilling ride down, an easy ride in the chairlift brings guests back to the Berghof.  Weekly night tobogganing under flood lights.

Skating

Gunzesried (5 minutes by car) has a beautiful outdoor rink.  Indoor rinks can be found in Sonthofen (15 minutes by car) and Oberstdorf (25 minutes by car).  Skate rental available at rinks.

Snowshoe hiking

We rent snowshoes and guided tours are also available.  Everything leaves from the hotel!

Torch hiking

Discover the winter wonderland at night.  Biting cold, sparkling stars and crispy snow under your feet followed by a warm kids punch or hot wine, a real mountain experience!  The guided torch tours take place once a week.
