The Allgäu is the tourist destination in Bavaria and Germany par excellence. In few other regions can one find so many attractions so near to one another. The Familotel Allgäuer Berghof is right in the middle of it all: Neuschwanstein (King Lugwig’s castle) in Füssen, Lindau on Lake Constance and Legoland in Günzberg are all less than an hour away.

Breitachklamm (Breitach Canyon)
This natural feature unique in Central Europe, welcomes 100 000 visitors yearly. The canyon was created when the Breitach (mountain river) broke through a massive boulder. The result is the magnificent canyon which is worth a trip at any time of year and in any type of weather.

Alpsee
So many possibilities: swimming, sailing, rowing, relaxing, walking, biking. A well kept shore promenade, a small bridge, a sunbathing lawn, café, restaurant, and stage with a variety of shows assure an enjoyable visit.

New Alpsee Coaster near the Alpsee

Germany’s longest summer bob-run with a high fun factor! A 3 km long track with 68 corners, 23 waves, 7 jumps and 4 bridges over trails, creeks and ravines makes every ride fun-packed! The chairlift takes you up and then the 40 km/hr race to the valley begins.

Alpine Dairy Farms

In Gunzesried or Hüttenberg. Tours are offered to those who wish to learn a little about Allgäuer mountain cheese and have fun doing so.

Carriage rides
Just like in the old days, during summer in a horse-drawn carriage, or in winter with a horse-drawn sleigh, through the Allgäuer mountain landscape. We can organize your trip around the area. It is a wonderful experience for children too! A trip with real horsepower in the fresh air to the sound of ringing bells. An experience not to be missed.

A wonderful farm to discover for children and parents alike. With adventure playground, petting zoo, you can even sit on the tractor, play in the straw or take part in the workshops or teaching days.

In Bad-Hindelang you can find the Trigema (Sport and leisure clothing, t-shirts, sweatshirts, track suits…) In

Immenstadt the Kunert company has an outlet mall with various brands such as Mexx, Schiesser, Dockers, Levis…(pants, t-shirts, etc…)

In Sonthofen, the ice rink is open in winter and in Oberstdorf, year round. Fun for the whole family! Skates may be rented.

Forum Kempten is a paradise for anyone who likes a little shopping. A wonderful fountain with water jets is exciting for even the little ones.

Half and hour by car in Kempten guests can also find Big Box Allgäu. Young stars, oldies, musicals or gospel, it can all be found and experienced here.

The Sturmannshöhle Obermaiselstein (a cave tour, 300m under the earth) is an other-worldly experience.

The Royal Castles in Neuschwanstein are an absolute MUST for those who visit the Allgäu. Horse drawn carriage rides are available up to the castles. Kids love it!

The automobile museum in Wolfegg am Schloss is appropriate for all.

The Miniwelt (Miniature world) Oberstaufen is a favourite amoung all model fans.
